Hema Shah

Hema is the founder of Stanmore Tutor (London, UK) where she helps children prepare
for the highly competitive eleven plus exams, with a focus on mindset. As well as for the
students, it can be an overwhelming journey for families as only the top performers get
selected. Having been through this stressful journey herself, Hema was eager to offer
stress-coping skills alongside academic tutoring to those having the same experience.
Her mindfulness-based tutoring has led to successful results and scholarships; it
has also empowered her clients with confidence.

Prior to her tutoring career, Hema was a certified accountant (CPA) in well established
practices. After losing her young son, she found comfort in holistic therapies, leading her
to train in meditation, mindfulness for schools, sports massage, nutrition and Pranic
healing amongst other therapies. She has also led multiple self-care and meditation
sessions during the pandemic to a range of people, with a large proportion being essential 
workers.
